H. SCOTT BARRETT
President and Chief Executive Officer
Scott joined HFC September 2019. He has an extensive background in franchise management and the franchise business model, as well as a successful history leading a JM Family business. In addition, Scott understands the JM culture and will be a strong ambassador for the “JM Family Way” at HFC. Scott’s focus is to support our franchisees and enable them to successfully serve homeowners in their markets through the brands they know and love.
Chief Financial Officer
Tara joined the HFC family in August 2020. As HFC’s CFO, she leads all aspects of the company’s financial functions including accounting, financial reporting, short and long-range planning and budgeting, and treasury. Tara brings with her over 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, and enterprise risk management, originally beginning her career in public accounting and becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
She first joined the parent company, JM Family, in 2006, and for the past 15 years Tara has held numerous positions of increased scope and complexity across the finance, audit and risk management areas.
Chief Development Officer
A 28-year veteran of the franchise world, JT started with Home Franchise Concepts in 2003 as a Franchise Licensing Advisor. Now as the Chief Development Officer, he is responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and franchise growth of Home Franchise Concepts’ six brands: Budget Blinds, Tailored Living, Concrete Craft, AdvantaClean, Kitchen Tune-Up, and Bath Tune-Up.
JT leads an award-winning team of professional franchise advisors who have participated in awarding over 1,300 HFC franchise territory to candidates, including his mother, brother and nephew who own nine Budget Blinds franchises.
Chief Marketing Officer
Heather Cates joined the HFC family in early 2021. She comes with extensive marketing experience working for many top tier organizations from Nissan to Mattel to Taco Bell to most recently, Allergan. She has over 20 years’ experience building strategic brand platforms with integrated marketing campaigns, including the Taco Bell “Nacho Fries (Web of Fries)” campaign as well as Botox “Own Your Look” campaign. With many years of experience with franchise organizations, Heather understands the importance of partnership and is focused on growing the brands together.
Chief Information Officer
Faisal Khan is Chief Information Officer of Technology at Home Franchise Concepts. He joined HFC in 2016, bringing with him over 20 years of leadership experience in Technology Management and Business Strategy, Operations, Supply-Chain and Manufacturing.
He led numerous enterprise technology transformations, customer experience programs and business integrations.
He has worked in various industries from Manufacturing, Supply-Chain, Distribution and Service across verticals such as HR, Forestry, Packaging, Commercial Printing, Energy/Utilities and Automotive Components.
As CIO, Faisal leads all aspects of HFC’s Technology operations to help HFC synergize its investments across the various brands while leading the development of key business applications to support the operational and continuous improvement programs.
President, Budget Blinds
Doug joined Budget Blinds November 2019. He has been in the franchise industry for over 25 years working with business owners to grow and improve profitability. Most recently, Doug was the Vice President of International Operations with International Dairy Queen leading regional teams around the world supporting Dairy Queen in 27 countries. Doug’s experience also includes over 20 years of operations leadership within the United States creating company leading results in sales, market growth and overall performance.
President, Tailored Living
Heather joined us in October of 2019 as Chief Marketing Officer for HFC prior to becoming President of Tailored Living. Prior to HFC, Heather served as the Head of Marketing at Tillys; a leading specialty retailer rooted in an active lifestyle. Her responsibilities spanned across all consumer touchpoints from digital to creating engaging in-store experiences. Prior to Tillys, she served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties in Irvine, CA. Heather spent over 16 years with Mattel, Inc. serving as the Sr. Director of Marketing & Strategic Operations, Head of Global Digital and other various senior marketing roles across their many iconic brands such as Fisher-Price™, Barbie™, Hot Wheels™, Matchbox™, and UNO™.
Heather graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana with a B.S. in Finance and has an MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business in Irvine.
President/Co-Founder, Concrete Craft
Dan spent 20 years as a manager in the luxury automobile industry before joining John Kostro to form All American Decorative Concrete. All American Decorative Concrete was acquired by Home Franchise Concepts in 2015 and was renamed Concrete Craft. Dan handles the day to day operations of Concrete Craft including technical support, business planning, new franchisee training, regional training, as well as sales training.
President, Kitchen Tune-Up & Bath Tune-Up
Heidi Morrissey joined Kitchen Tune-Up in May of 2003 at the urging of her father, Kitchen Tune-Up founder, Dave Haglundand in 2017, she officially took on the role of president. During her time prior to becoming president, Heidi spent most of her years working in sales and marketing and developing Kitchen Tune-Up into the brand it is today. As a 2nd generation franchise owner, Heidi strives to keep Kitchen Tune-Up relevant, profitable and a leader in the industry.
